Are you looking for a Montrose summer camp or vacation bible school (VBS) to kick start summer?

Join the fun this summer as Explore! jumps into adventures in God’s world and excursions in God’s Word – bringing Bible stories to life!

Four Wednesdays: May 29th & June 5th, 12th, 19th

Usual schedule: 9:00 am to 3:00 pm. Our Explore! day begins as we meet at 9:00am at River Bottom Park in Montrose. We will gather together at the tables near the bathroom building. We will also return here at the end of our day, 3:00 p.m. If transportation is needed to or from your home, give us a call. Explore! leaders may be able to help.

Each Wednesday will be unique. The day’s schedule will depend on the activities we have lined-up (see the box below for some possibilities).

We encourage and welcome parents and grandparents to participate part-time or full-time. Our desire is to have one adult for every three children. Assistance with transportation is always helpful; and if you can help in this way, please tell one of the Explore! leader.

Explore! will be led by several caring adult volunteers.

Who Should Attend: Explore! is for youth of all ages (age 5 through high school; however, a 4-year old sibling may attend with an older sibling if mutually agreed upon by Explore! leaders and parents/guardians. Any age may attend with a parent.) We welcome you to invite friends.

These two forms must be completed for all minors who participate (click to print):

Explore! Registration and Participation Agreement

Medical Release form

We will have these forms available as we begin each Explore! day, but we encourage you to print them and complete them ahead of time.
Each week, we will send a text message to those who have come in the past, seeking confirmation of their attendance that week. Please respond no later than Tuesday evening – the day before.

To Register: The number of participants is limited, so we encourage you to register soon. To do so, complete the two forms above. Then scan or take a photo of the “Registration & Participation Agreement” and email this page to our email address listed below. Bring the original of both forms with you on your first Explore! day.

Explore! Cost: Our summer program is a ministry of Christ Lutheran Church. There is no cost to participate; but if a family wishes to make a donation toward expenses, that is appreciated.

Lunch: Sack lunches are our plan. So each person should bring one. Also, each person is encouraged to bring their own water bottle, marked with their name. At the end of each day, we will provide free ice cream or watermelon for all participants and their parents.

Note: There will not be any opportunity to spend money – no convenience or other store purchases, no souvenirs – do not bring money for anything.

Our Agreement for a Great Time at Explore!

Proper shoes must be worn – NO flip flops or sandals.
We will stay together as a group at all times; children never alone.
Personal property and personal space will be honored by everyone.
Snacks will only be consumed at snack time; no food will be opened and eaten in vehicles.
No cell phones, personal video or electronic games, or music devices are to be brought. Explore! is group time. (Our preference is that parents would call Explore! leaders should they wish to speak with their children. And children may borrow a leader’s phone should they need to call their parents. Parents, if you desire a different cell-phone plan for your child, please discuss it with Pastor Tim.)
We will show respect and kindness in our speaking and actions to one another. Some of the character qualities we will encourage and affirm: attentiveness, compassion, cooperation, dedication, enthusiasm, honesty, patience, perseverance, respect, servanthood.
