God’s Gift-giving Service – Each Sunday at 9:00 a.m.
WHERE: The Hampton Inn (meeting room)
1980 N. Townsend Ave. Montrose, CO 81401
(Just north of central Montrose on Hwy 50, near the airport.)
(The glass doors enter a hallway with bathrooms at the far end. Our gathering room is on the left.)

What should I expect?

Friendly people gathered in a welcoming environment being comforted and encouraged by the forgiveness and love of Jesus, and sharing that with one another.

  • Our services last about 60 minutes and involve all ages. The story of Jesus is always central.

  • We call our gathering “God’s Gift-giving Service” because He is present. He wants to bless us, and He does. He gives us His good gifts of forgiveness and life united to Jesus’ saving work.

  • We read from the Bible and explain what is read.

  • Messages are taught directly from Scripture.

  • We speak together key promises that comfort us in the midst of whatever life or our own weakness is throwing at us.

  • We often utilize historic Christian Creeds, like the Apostles’ or Nicene Creed. These are summaries of the entire Bible and help us to “believe out loud” together.

  • Music may include rich hymns of the past, modern songs and children’s songs. We involve all ages.

  • If you’ve thought: “I’m not good enough to attend church,” then this is where you should be. We don’t come here because WE are good, we come here because JESUS is here; He is good, and here we each receive His mercy and kindness in real ways.

  • Bible Study is directly after the service at 10:15 a.m.

What do people wear?

Come as you are.  In this vacation town, you’ll see some folks dressed for a hike, others in snazzy dress, and others in between.

Leaders wearing robes?

What’s up with the worship leader often wearing a robe?  They do not do so because they have to or because anyone’s making them.  It’s like a uniform.  And it is a small way of reminding everyone that this person is serving in the stead of Christ – it is with Jesus’ authority that he speaks the word of God and offers the gifts of God to everyone gathered.

These words from Colossians 3:15-17 guide our worship gatherings:

Let the peace of Christ rule in your hearts, since as members of one body you were called to peace. And be thankful. Let the word of Christ dwell in you richly as you teach and admonish one another with all wisdom, and as you sing psalms, hymns and spiritual songs with gratitude in your hearts to God. And whatever you do, whether in word or deed, do it all in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God the Father through Him.

What if I am nervous about going to church?

Still a bit hesitant to walk through the doors of a new church? We get it.  And you might have a question or two not answered on this website. Feel free to call and chat. We think the more you find out, the more you’ll feel at home with us.  (970) 633-0226

I have lots of questions about Jesus and the Bible and church.

Great.  Questions are good.  And none of us are born with the answers either. We all grow bit by bit.  Because our services are so focused on Jesus, we believe each one will help you find answers.  We also have a class called “Good News of Jesus” which deals with many, many common questions. We’d love to have you. Perhaps a friend would come with you. Time and place can be adapted to fit people’s schedules. Let us know if you’re interested and we can make it happen. • How do I sort out all the different beliefs?

  • I want to understand God better.

  • I want to understand Jesus.

  • Why don’t I feel a need for God?

  • Why do I feel I’m beyond forgiveness?

  • I want wholeness in my life.

  • I want to know for sure that I’m forgiven.

  • I want to be sure of going to heaven.

  • I want to be sure I’m teaching my children the truth.

  • I want to know why there’s so much pain and hurt in this world.
